Akademikernes A-kasse is a Danish unemployment insurance fund, that work as a sparring partner and financial safety net throughout academic’s working life. MAKWäRK designed their Start-up department in Copenhagen back in 2018, and as it was a success, we were invited to design their department in Aalborg as well.

AKK Aalborg wanted a space that matched the department in Copenhagen, that could nurture an incubator environment for their academic members. This included designing both places for groups to work together, small informal meeting areas and more formal work stations. We started the work in December 2021 and opened the department five months later.

As of March 2022 we are now working on the regular office spaces for Akademikernes A-kasses employees at the head office in Copenhagen.
